Strength Training Aug. 4

This morning I managed to drag myself out of bed and to the gym before work. That was quite the feat because I was beat from swimming yesterday! Somehow swimming always makes me exhausted, no matter how well I’m conditioned otherwise.

My strength workout at the gym today was shoulders. I looooove lifting shoulders. I neglected them for so long and only started dedicating a lifting day to them a few months ago. But the results have started to peek through and now I’m hooked!

Shoulder workout:

Super set (x4): shoulder press 12 reps (20 lb dumbbells), lateral and front raises 12 reps each arm (10 lb plate)

Super set (x4): scarecrow lift 12 reps (10 lb dumbbells), lateral and front raises 12 reps each arm (10 lb plate)

Super set (x4): Shrugs 12 reps (40 lb dumbbells), lateral and front raises 12 reps each arm (10 lb plate)

Finished with standing rows with easy curl bar at 40lbs for 12 reps, x4

That was a crushing shoulder workout and I barely stopped moving the entire time. My rests were short and I tried to keep my heart rate elevated. The entire workout lasted 45 minutes, with a half mile jog at the end just for fun.
